Science Department
The goal of Ontario secondary schools is to support high-quality learning while giving individual students the opportunity to choose programs that suit their skills and interests.
The three goals of the science program are as follows:
- to relate science to technology, society, and the environment
- to develop the skills, strategies, and habits of mind required for scientific inquiry/investigation
- to understand the basic concepts of science
Our school offers the following courses
Grade 9
- Locally Developed Science (SNC1L)
- Pre International Baccalaureate Science (SNC1DB)
- De-streamed Science (SNC1W)

- Applied Science (SNC2P)

Grade 11
- Biology (University SBI3U or College SBI3C)
- Chemistry (University SCH3U or College SCH3C)
- Physics (University SPH3U)
- Environmental Science (University/College SVN3M or Workplace SVN3E)
International Baccalaureate Standard Level Biology OR International Baccalaureate Standard Level Physics (a two semester course, with examinations occurring usually in April/May)
International Baccalaureate Higher Level Chemistry (course begins in grade 11 for 1 semester and continues in grade 12 for 2 semesters)
Grade 12
