Notre Dame Secondary School was established in 1983 to serve Heart Lake in Brampton and the communities of Caledon, Orangeville, Bolton, and Georgetown. Notre Dame opened with eight teachers and a principal in BD Fleming Public School. In its third year, the school moved to a board holding school, which was on the Sheridan College campus and in 1988 moved to its present location at 2 Notre Dame Avenue, Brampton.
